Description:
This PDH will provide a more in depth look into Skillstreaming in Early Childhood lessons and how to provide instruction to our 4K/K students. We will review effective teaching arrangements and procedures, refining skill use, teaching for skill generalization, and managing behavior problems. We will also discuss ways to structure the program universally as well as at the Tier 2/3 levels. Skill outlines are one-page summaries for each skill, including skill steps, guidelines for skill instruction, and suggested situations for modeling and student practice. Homework reports list skill steps and guide students in additional practice and evaluation outside the instructional group. Additionally, developing a process for identifying students lagging skills and need for additional social skill instruction will be reviewed.
This curriculum strongly coincides with our districts mission of Trauma Sensitive and Positive Behavioral Practices. These lesson plans and activities help to create a safe, productive learning experience while preventing school and behavioral failure and also laying the foundation for education and life success.
