Description:
This 10-hour, self-paced professional development focuses on executive functioning (EF) and its critical role in students' academic and social success. The training provides an overview of EF based on current research, explores how parenting and digital media influence EF development, and introduces practical, school-based intervention strategies. Designed for school-based mental health professionals, this PD enhances my ability to support students with EF challenges through evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches.
Executive functioning is one of the strongest predictors of academic success, even more so than IQ, making it a critical area for intervention. Strengthening these skills helps students engage more effectively in classroom activities, manage tasks, and overcome learning barriers, leading to improved academic performance and greater overall success in school.
